How Far in Advance Should I Book my Trip?

For the best selection, pricing, and overall travel experience, we recommend booking your trip as early as possible. Domestic vacations are typically best booked 2 to 6 months in advance, while international trips often benefit from planning 6 to 12 months ahead. Cruises, destination weddings, group travel, and holiday vacations may require even more advance planning—often 9 to 18 months before departure. Booking early provides greater flexibility, access to preferred accommodations and flight options, and more time to take advantage of payment plans, travel protection, and special promotions. Whether you're planning a relaxing beach getaway, an exciting cruise, or a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure, early planning helps ensure a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience.

Do I Need a Passport to Travel?

For domestic flights within the United States, no, a passport is not required; adults may use a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another TSA-approved form of identification. For international flights, yes, a valid passport is required, and some countries may also require a visa or additional entry documents. For cruises, requirements vary by itinerary. Many closed-loop cruises that begin and end at the same U.S. port may allow travel with a government-issued photo ID and a certified birth certificate, but a passport is strongly recommended. Cruises that begin or end in different countries or visit destinations with specific entry requirements typically require a valid passport. Always check the current travel requirements for your destination and cruise line before departure.

Should I Purchase Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended for most trips, especially when traveling internationally, taking a cruise, or investing in a significant vacation package. Travel insurance can help protect your investment by providing coverage for unexpected events such as trip cancellations, travel delays, lost luggage, medical emergencies, and emergency evacuations. Since unforeseen circumstances can arise before or during your trip, having travel insurance offers valuable peace of mind and financial protection. Your travel advisor can help you select a policy that best fits your destination, travel plans, and budget.
